5 Years of Hudson Home!

In the Beginning

Rewind 5 years ago and we were excited to launch our dream of a high street shop, Hudson Home. After both having careers in London and after having a family we wanted to try dipping our toes into running a small business. This is where our adventure into retail begun. Well not strictly true, we had both worked behind the scenes in retail, and Claire grew up in and around her father shop, so it was not all new, or so we thought...

The Shop Years

Our little corner of the world was an enjoyable place, friendly locals and fellow store owners, all willing to jump in and lend a hand. Sadly the high street was in decline, high rents, rates, and expensive parking, forced us to rethink our little dream.

Online

We had dipped our toes selling online, now it was time to totally jump in. We packed up our remaining stock, and spread it between storage units, spare rooms and garages, until we landed our first warehouse at Holly Farm. Our first year was a huge learning curve, web design, photography, packaging, delivery, it was endless – and it pretty much still is!

Today

It didn’t take long to fill our little warehouse to bursting point (thanks to all you lovely customers). Luckily we were able to move again, and get some much needed help. Our small team is only made up 4 fantastic employees, each one a diamond.

Meet the Team - Claire & Nic

Claire at rest - usually she is on the move, hunting down new products, she takes care of the styling plus she's the driving force behind the look and feel of Hudson Home. It took some persuading to get Nic in front of the lens - he definitely prefers to be on the other side of it, or buried in a computer screen. Nic takes charge all of our photography, graphics, website and with the help of Harry anything branded.

Matt & Harry

Matt our Warehouse Manager extraordinaire, he runs a very tight ship, we dare not move a pallet without permission! If you've ever had to email us chances you'll chat to Matt - he loves talking to customers and sorting out any problems. Harry, Graphic designer plus barista - our newest recruit has slotted in perfectly, speeding up content production 2000%.

Peter & Michelle

Our Master packer Peter, with a near perfect breakage record, if he can’t get it through, no-one can. Michelle wraps, packs, cuts, sorts, checks, the warehouse wonder woman and she always looks amazing even after a day of packing lamps!

Bomber

Frankfurter snaffling warehouse dog, he may be old now but has seen it all.
