Maison et Oject January 2024
As the new year begins for us its the start of the show season - buying for the year ahead. The highlight for me is always Maison in Paris, a major French trade fair for interior design.
Maison et Objet, which translates to "House and Object" in English, is not just a trade show; it's a celebration of design in all its facets. Held in the vibrant city of Paris, this event brings together an eclectic mix of designers, artisans, and industry professionals from around the globe. With a keen focus on interior decoration, design, and lifestyle, Maison et Objet serves as a dynamic platform for the exchange of ideas and the discovery of new trends.
Apart from the fact its a held in one of the most beautiful cities, Maison always manages to mix up innovation, design and beautiful interiors in an array of styles.
Whilst you know here at Hudson Home we don’t tie ourselves rigorously to the ebb and flow of trend led design, we are always on the lookout to nod to those trends that do sit right at home with our timeless aesthetic that we know you’ll also love.
Here's a few trends that caught our eye.
Trend 1 - Natural Materials
The rising awareness of environmental sustainability has fueled a growing preference for eco-friendly materials in home design. Rattan and bamboo are eco-friendly materials that have become synonymous with bohemian and tropical aesthetics. Lighting fixtures, such as pendant lights and floor lamps, woven from these materials, introduce a light and airy ambiance to any space.
We love Coswell Pendant Lamp and Nantucket Lamp.
Trend 2 - Mid Century Charm
In a world where design trends come and go, mid-century modern furniture and interiors stand as a testament to the enduring power of thoughtful design. The clean lines, functionality, and timeless elegance of mid-century pieces continue to inspire and shape the way we approach interior design. Whether you're a devoted enthusiast or a newcomer to the mid-century aesthetic, there's no denying the allure of a style that effortlessly marries form and function, creating spaces that feel both timeless and contemporary.
We love Nava Chair and Atlas tub Chair for a classic take on Mid Century style.
Trend 3 - Lux Decor
Luxury interiors transcend the ordinary, creating spaces that are not just aesthetically pleasing but also exude opulence and refinement. From high-end materials to bespoke craftsmanship, the realm of luxury interiors is a celebration of sophistication and exclusivity.
We love Wregan Chandelier and the Aslan Armchair
Trend 4 - Florals
Gone are the days when artificial flowers were easily recognizable as imitations. Today's faux florals boast an unparalleled level of realism, often indistinguishable from their living counterparts. Crafted with precision, these replicas capture the delicate nuances of natural blooms, ensuring that your space exudes authenticity and sophistication.
We love for that lux look faux spanish moss and faux magnolia
Trend 5 - Scandi
Scandinavian design is not just a passing trend; it's a timeless aesthetic that transcends eras. The simplicity and versatility of this style make it easy to adapt to changing tastes and evolving design trends, ensuring that your home remains a classic sanctuary for years to come.
We love Jakob Pedestal Bowl and Black round mirror.
